Case history: Zwarte Cross festival, Netherlands:
Sustainable water management at one of Europe’s largest festivals
During the WijWater initiative at the Zwarte Cross Festival, government organizations, water utilities, technology providers, and industry partners came together to demonstrate how large-scale events can reduce their environmental footprint through innovative water management.
The project aimed to maximize the use of locally available source water while reducing overall drinking water consumption. Beyond sustainability objectives, maintaining water safety remained a critical requirement throughout the operation.
microLAN contributed its BACTcontrol technology for continuous microbiological monitoring of the source water system and critical control points of the festival.
