For drinking water utilities, early detection of accidental pollution events is critical. Waternet uses online biomonitoring as an additional safeguard to continuously monitor the quality of surface water entering its drinking water production process. After more than ten years of continuous operation, it was time to replace the existing TOXcontrol system with the latest generation.
Solution
microLAN installed a new-generation TOXcontrol online Toxicity monitor at Waternet‘s intake monitoring station. The system continuously screens incoming water using bioluminescent bacteria, providing an early warning for unexpected toxic contamination events.
